General Information
I have been working in the fields of mental health, counselling & coaching for close to 20 years across diverse practice areas in the non-government sector and in private practice; with significant experience in the management and operations of a successful group private practice. I have worked in private practice for 13 years.

I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree and am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Clinical Social Worker. I have an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree (majoring in Psychology and Philosophy).  I combine these fields of study and practice areas with innovative modalities including Neuro Linguistic Programming), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focussed and Strengths based therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychology and Success Coaching methods.

I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF); a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr Brené Brown. As part of The Daring Way™ process we explore topics which include vulnerability, courage, shame and worthiness.

I am the Director, Founder and Principal Therapist at Talkingminds.

I am interested in the mind-body connection and the ability to heal, regenerate and transform. Drawing on my social work training and strengths based approaches, I work with the ‘whole person’ and consider carefully the context, environment and history of my client’s situations. I consider it a true privilege to bear witness to the transformation of my clients and their individual journeys.

General Information

Alicia is an experienced psychologist with a range of clinical interests including anxiety, depression, relationships, stress management and trauma, however Alicia’s competency to work with presentations outside of these conditions is well grounded. Alicia works predominantly with adults (18 and above).

Alicia has a Masters of Science in Coaching Psychology at Sydney University (the only university based coaching program in Australia) and has a passionate interest in workplace and executive coaching. Alicia utilises her coaching skills to assist clients with career and workplace coaching, success coaching, performance coaching, communication and life coaching. Her style is inspiring and motivating and she is skilled in helping her coaching clients reach their goals.

Additionally, Alicia has experience working with pain management within a multi -disciplinary and rehabilitation setting and is WorkCover, CTP & Medicare approved.

Driven by fascination and curiosity, Alicia uses diverse reference points in terms of her clinical orientation and draws on the modalities of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focussed Therapy. Tania is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years’ experience. Tania holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from the University of St Petersburg (Russia) and a Master of Science in Medicine (Psychotherapy) from the University of Sydney. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.

Tania provides professional supervision to Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Psychology registrars and is well respected for her care and commitment to the profession. Over the years, Tania has worked with a wide range of clients both in Australia and overseas. In the last 15 years Tania developed a strong interest and commitment to Buddhist philosophy and psychology. Her own meditation practice informs and directs her psychological approach.

At present Tania is specialising in mindfulness based psychotherapy including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the Conversational Model of Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Jeanette is a mental health social worker with extensive clinical experience in drug and alcohol, mental health, child protection and trauma. Jeanette worked in an inner city drug and alcohol department for 10 years and has well developed group work and counselling skills in supporting people whose drug use is impacting their lives. In particular, Jeanette has an understanding of stimulant use and the nature, contexts and the dynamics of the ways in which people use stimulants. Jeanette has a deep interest in sexual assault, domestic violence and survivors of childhood abuse.

Jeanette also has experience in working therapeutically with clients who experience depression, anxiety, relationship issues and life adjustments and is able to draw on her wide ranging skills to best support her clients.

Dr Jane Mowll is an accredited mental health social worker with extensive experience in clinical health settings. She has over 16 years counselling and therapy experience in grief and bereavement, posttraumatic stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders and interpersonal and stress related difficulties.

Jane is experienced in providing grief counselling & therapy, particularly for people experiencing difficulties with bereavement, or complicated/ persistent grief. Lyn is a dedicated, experienced psychologist who has worked in both the private sector as well as in private practice. She is experienced in working with many different client groups, including government employees and government clients, as well as non-government employees and private citizens.

Whilst working in private practice, Lyn has developed a particular interest in working with adults in the areas of depression, anxiety and stress management, as well as with individuals living with chronic physical illness, life changing injury, pain, fatigue and post-traumatic stress.

General Information

Andrew is a Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the Royal Holloway University of London. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Neuropsychology from University College London.

Andrew is highly experienced with neuro-developmental conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, tic disorders, and academic or learning difficulties. He enjoys working with adults as well as children and adolescents. His approach to working with clients is collaborative, compassionate, and understanding. Andrew conducts detailed and thorough assessments which address the person’s current functioning across a wide range of situations, using his knowledge of brain development to understand how their symptoms and strengths may have changed and manifested over time.

Andrew has a strong background in psychometric and diagnostic assessment, as well as providing therapy for common mental health conditions. In terms of therapeutic approaches Andrew utilises evidence-based techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Systemic Therapy.

Having worked at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, U.K. in conjunction with his private practice work in neuropsychology, Andrew gained a strong grounding in paediatric peuropsychology at the start of his career. He has also worked in adult neuro-rehabilitation and psychometric assessment in Sydney, and Andrew has also focused on providing therapy to clients who have mental health challenges. Andrew has worked a great deal with ADHD and high functioning autism during his neuropsychology and mental health positions.

Examples of the mental health conditions Andrew treats, include self-esteem and confidence issues, low mood, phobias and worries, obsessive compulsive disorder, tic disorders, trichotillomania, problems with sleep, problems with social skills and flexibility, and problems regulating behaviour and emotions in challenging situations. Andrew has endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist and is fully registered as a psychologist with AHPRA (Reg. #: PSY0001964051).
