Social Media Policy
This document outlines TalkingMinds’ policies regarding social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and our blog.
TalkingMinds’ social media platforms allow users to comment on and share our stories. Once published, comments on TalkingMinds posts are publicly accessible. Depending on the privacy settings of your social media accounts, sharing activity may be public too.
We encourage users to carefully consider the information they publish on TalkingMinds social media platforms. By commenting on TalkingMinds’ content or sharing it via social media, you acknowledge that we cannot prevent third parties from gathering or using this publicly available information. You acknowledge that the security of any online data you transmit to us cannot be guaranteed, though every effort will be made to ensure your privacy and security is protected. All online activities with regard to our social media channels are conducted at your own risk and we cannot accept responsibility for the misuse, loss of or unauthorised access to your information.
TalkingMinds may sometimes share links to third party websites via social media. TalkingMinds is not responsible for the privacy practices or contents of other websites and users should read the privacy policies of these sites.
Facebook does not currently display a public list of people who ‘like’ pages such as the TalkingMinds Facebook page; however, it does display this activity to your Facebook friends. This means your friends are able to see if you ‘like’ our page and potentially compromises your confidentiality. You should be able to subscribe to the page via RSS without ‘liking’ it and without creating a visible, public link to the page.
Information on accounts you follow on Twitter is publicly available. There are more private ways to follow us on Twitter, such as using an RSS feed or locked Twitter list. Note that TalkingMinds will not follow clients on Twitter or blogs.
Some Talkingminds’ practitioners have Linkedin profiles. We are unable to accept Linkedin connection requests from clients as this may compromise your privacy.
Messaging
Please do not use messaging on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter & Linkedin to contact us regarding private matters or if we have already established a client/therapist relationship. These sites are not secure and TalkingMinds does not constantly monitor its social media accounts. We can accept no responsibility for the failure of information to be received via these means. If you need to contact your practitioner between sessions, the best way to do so is by phone on (02) 9114 9977.
